Good Saturday bloggers,

We had a gorgeous Saturday sunrise as cirrus clouds from the anvils of thunderstorms north of I-80 drifted south.

We are in for a hot weekend ahead of a Sunday cold front. Click on the video below for the details on this front and rainfall forecast. Below the video we have an update on the tropics as we track 3 systems.

TROPICAL UPDATE:

We are tracking 3 tropical systems.

1. Hurricane Hanna: This will enter south Texas Saturday afternoon as a category 1 hurricane. 5" to 20" of rain will be possible down there as it moves slowly. Once it is inland it will turn southwest into Mexico having no affect on our weather.

2. Hurricane Douglas: This will have an impact on Hawaii Sunday and Monday. Right now it looks like it will affect the islands Sunday-Monday as a category 1 or 2. You can see the name list below and there is no Douglas. This is because there are separate name lists for the Atlantic, eastern Pacific and central Pacific. Douglas is in the central Pacific region.

3. Tropical Storm Gonzalo: This system will head west into the Caribbean Sea and most likely fall apart. What is left of Gonzalo may enter the Gulf of Mexico August 3-10 and reorganize.

Here is the list of 2020 Atlantic basin hurricane names. We are zooming through the alphabet at a record pace this season.

Have a great weekend and stay healthy.
