Good AFC Championship Sunday,

AFC Championship Sunday has finally arrived as a storm system is churning through the southwest USA. This storm will enter west Texas tonight before turning northeast, tracking to Iowa Monday night. This takes the main track just northwest of KC. The heaviest snow usually falls northwest of the track of the upper level low. That is why southeast Nebraska, southern Iowa, far northwest/north Missouri and extreme northeast to north central Kansas are in a Winter Storm Warning tonight and Monday. The Kansas City metropolitan area is not in any winter advisory at this time.

The main precipitation begins in Kansas City 2-4 AM Monday as rain. This means the weather for game looks pretty good considering it is January with a winter storm on the way. There is just a 20% chance of drizzle for most of the game, increasing to 60% at the end of the game to 2 AM. Temperatures will be above freezing so roads will be damp to wet. The wind will also pick up towards the end of the game.

The 4 minute video below goes in to detail on the upcoming winter storm and the weather for the Chiefs game. And my forecast for the score of the game...31-20 Chiefs.

Have a great week, stay healthy and GO CHIEFS!
