Good Sunday bloggers,

The much talked about snowstorm has arrived. A Winter Storm Warning is now in effect from around KC to St. Louis along I-70 and points south with a Winter Weather Advisory to our north. This is due to there being more snow with this first round. There is more Gulf of Mexico moisture and a little bit more upper level energy today.

Let's go through this winter storm situation as we continue to track two systems for today and Monday.

TODAY: The snow will become heavy at times this morning and will last until 6 PM. Then, 6-10 PM the snow will end quickly from west to east. Roads have become slick in a hurry. Use caution, stay in your lane, pay attention to other drivers.

MONDAY: After 10 PM tonight until about 5-6 AM Monday it will be dry in KC as we watch the second system coming in from the southwest. Right now it looks like this second system will move across the area between 7 AM and 7 PM Monday for locations mostly along and south of I-70. The trend is for a weaker system, but could add 1"-3" of snow.

We will not have to deal with blowing and drifting snow with this winter storm as winds will be mostly 10-20 mph from the northeast and then north.

SNOWFALL FORECAST SUNDAY-MONDAY: Here is our updated snowfall forecast for today and tonight. The heaviest seems to be shifting to the I-70 corridor. The maps below are for snowfall totals today and Monday. 80% of the amounts occur today and this evening.

Have great week, enjoy the snow, but be careful out there.
