After eating the traditional Thanksgiving turkey and stuffing, Macy's will be at the ready to cash in on Black Friday shoppers.
According to BestBlackFriday.com, Macy's will open its locations at 5 p.m. Thanksgiving Day, as it did in 2016.
The first time Macy's opened on Thanksgiving was in 2013, according to a CNBC article.
It is the first major retailer to announce its Black Friday hours for 2017.
BestBlackFriday.com, which tracks retailers' holiday deals and hours, has received confirmation from seven U.S. shopping centers that their Macy's locations will open at 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving Thursday, though none of those confirmed are in the KC metro area.
Many people still do not want to see stores open on Thanksgiving Day.
The Facebook group "Boycott Shopping on Thanksgiving Day" continues to post items showing which stores are staying closed on the holiday.
