A 14-year-old girl forced at knife point to have sex with a 21-year-old man, is pregnant with the child conceived in the attack.
Derek D. Bridgewater faces first degree rape, first degree sodomy and felonious restraint, Jackson County prosecutors announced on Thursday.
The attack happened February 1 at a house in the 6400 block of South Benton Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri.
The girl told police the Bridgewater took her to the house and threatened to kill her and her family if she did not spend the night, according to court documents.
Bridgewater, cut the girl on her arm before raping her.
Court documents state the victim told Bridgewater she had to go to school and he let her leave.
The girl was reported to police as a runaway the day before the rape and cutting.
Officers arrested Bridgewater Wednesday on an unrelated charge.
Bridgewater told detectives he didn't have sex with the girl or hold her against her will, court documents state.
The victim's due date is in mid-November.
Prosecutors requested a bond of $150,000.
