Seven people have been charged with murder in connection with the death of 23-year-old Heather Briggs.

Nichole Razo, 21, was charged Tuesday, July 25 with first-degree murder in the commission of a felony or in the alternative second-degree murder. Her bond is set at $1,000,000.

The following people were charged on Wednesday with first-degree murder in the commission of a felony:

  • Curtis Cooley, 29
  • Seth Herron, 25
  • April Lunsford, 36
  • Michael Pearce, 27
  • David Rhoades, 24
  • Kevin Stevens, 29

Each individual's bond was set at $1,000,000 cash or surety.

According to the Miami County Attorney's Office, first-degree murder in the commission of a felony is commonly known as felony murder. The underlying felony in all cases is distribution of methamphetamine.

At 2 a.m. on July 21, deputies were dispatched to the 31500 block of Look-Out Road in regard to a vehicle/pedestrian accident.

The caller said the vehicle was still on top of the victim. Emergency crews arrived, and the victim was pronounced dead.

Further investigation revealed several people were in the rural area during the time, and the driver, Razo, may have intentionally struck Briggs.
