A fire started in the kitchen at Tanner’s Bar and Grill at the Waldo location. The fire happened after 2:45 a.m. on Wednesday after staff had closed for the night.
According to KCFD, people across the street at The Well saw it and called 911. When KCPD arrived they could see the fire through the windows. They broke in and put the fire out.
The general manager, Rodney Couey says that the flat-top in the kitchen caught fire. He said that a new flat top will be delivered today or tomorrow and that they are working to conduct a health inspection before then.
Drinks will be served on Wednesday, but food will not be served because of the dust from the extinguisher.
There were no injuries.
