Kansas City siblings sentenced to life in prison for 2013 murder

A brother and sister were sentenced to life in prison for the 2013 murder of a Jackson County man. 

Omar T. Muhammad and Monique Ransom were convicted of second degree murder and armed criminal action in the fatal shooting of Eric Harrell. 

Ransom and Muhammad were sentenced on Friday to life in prison and 15 years on the armed criminal action conviction. 

Muhammad was sentenced to an additional seven years for receiving stolen property conviction. 

According to the probable cause statement, Ransom wen to Harrell's house with her brother and her boyfriend. While the boyfriend was outside of the house, Ransom and Muhammad got into an argument with Harrell during and attempted robbery, officials said. They shot him multiple times.
