A triple murder is turning cold, just months after it happened.

Two months later and Emma Bartshe is pleading for information in the shooting that killed her best friend, Ali Brown and injured Brown's son.

"Somebody knows something and it need to come about by someone," Bartshe said.

On Jan. 12, police said three men showed up to Brown's apartment and opened fire.

A couple and Brown died from their injuries. Brown's two-year-old son Karson and another woman were wounded. Karson underway surgery and spent a month in the hospital recovering.

"Ali was the best. She was so bright and caring and Karson he's amazing. I love him like he's my own baby," Bartshe said.

Brown is the daughter of a former mayor in Saint Peters, Mo. She moved to Kansas City to start a life for herself and her son. All of this happening as she fought her demons.

"Ali battled depression before her death and it was something that she didn't really knew how to seek help for," Bartshe said.

Her friends have now set up the ARB Foundation to help provide resources for those battling with depression.

As for the criminal case, KCPD told 41 Action News Monday they've only received a few tips and there's not much of a description of the three suspects who murdered this little boy's mother.

"He's only two but if you don't do it for us do it for him because he deserved to know the truth behind what happened to him and his mom," Bartshe said.

If you have any information about this triple murder call police or the KC Crimestoppers Hotline 816-474-TIPS (8477).

Police statistics show 17 of last year's 128 murders in Kansas City remain unsolved.
