KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City needs your help identifying two men accused of illegally dumping a load of garbage.

A city camera captured the men backing their white Ford Exhibition into the yard of a vacant Land Bank property on 51st and College. As the camera rolled, the men dumped the garbage onto the lawn and within seconds drove away.

“It’s very frustrating,” said Alan Ashurst, the city’s Illegal Dumping Inspector. “The dump sites that I put cameras at, the general public does not see. This one is 20 yards from a house, 30 yards from a house, 40 yards from a house so that's going to make it a little more important to us.”

Each year Kansas City spends about $2 million cleaning up illegal dumping sites.

Anyone who recognizes the men or who may have information about the crime is asked to call 311 or the TIPS hotline at (816) 474-TIPS.
