Adam Purinton's second court hearing Thursday lasted less than two minutes.

Purinton's public defender, Michael McCulloch, asked for more time to review the evidence against the 51-year-old man.

Purinton is charged with the murder of Srinivas Kuchibhotla and the attempted murder of Alok Madasani and Ian Grillot.

According to court documents, on February 22 Purinton confronted Kuchibhotla and Madasani at Austins Bar and Grill.

He began harassing them and asked them their status was legal.

Restaurant employees asked him to leave. But half an hour later, Purinton returned with a gun.

He fatally shot Kuchibhotla and wounded Madasani.

Grillot tried to stop Purinton from getting away but was shot in the process.

The FBI has called this a hate crime but no charges have been filed yet in federal court.

As for the state charges Purinton makes his court appearance on May 9.
