Prairie Village police officers posing as teens on bikes caught two people they say are responsible for a string of home burglaries in the neighborhood.

The officers were undercover on bikes and saw two suspects breaking into multiple homes. Police started to chase the two and it ended when the suspects crashed a stolen car into a home.

According to Wes Lovett from the Prairie Village Police Department, the car hit a light pole first and then made contact with the house, but did very little damage to the house.

The Leawood Police Department is also investigating the crash, which occurred at 2615 Somerset Dr.

One person was ejected from the vehicle and one person had to be cut out. According to Leawood police, the adult male driver and adult male passenger of the vehicle were both transported for treatment of their injuries. The vehicle was stolen in Prairie Village and the suspects had fled from Prairie Village officers.

No one inside the home was injured. The scene is now cleared and the car has been towed.

Prairie Village police said there were more than 12 burglaries in the neighborhood over the last two to three weeks.

This is a developing story, check back for more updates.
