A paramedic and a patient were critically hurt when their ambulance skidded off U.S. 169 Highway Tuesday night, went down an embankment and rolled over.
The Neosho County, Kansas, ambulance was headed north on the highway between Spring Hill and Hillsdale Lake when a tire malfunctioned, according a Miami County Sheriff's Department spokesman.
That caused the ambulance to leave the highway, roll down an embankment and overturn.
No word on the severity of injuries to the ambulance driver.
The Kansas Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
