The medal count continues to rise in Rio and Mizzou standout wrestler J’den Cox is adding to the numbers.

In his Olympic debut, the 21-year-old leaves Rio with a bronze medal in the men’s freestyle 86kg after winning his first two matches by a combined score of 12-2 to reach the semi finals.

In his final match, he went head to head with Cuba’s Reineris Salas. Cox wasn’t rewarded his two points until after a video review from officials. The review gave Cox a 3-1 lead with 6 seconds left on the clock. At the end of the match, the Cuban coach ran over to the official’s table to protest, but Cox got the win and the bronze medal.
