Forty-two percent of traffic deaths are related to drunk driving during New Year's Eve celebrations, according to The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

"More than 450 vehicles are ready to take you home this New Year's Eve," said Terry O'Toole, general manager of Kansas City Transportation Group, which runs Yellow Cab, KC Shuttle and Carey Kansas City.

Terry's best advice? If you're willing to jump in a cab at 11:50 p.m. and skip out on the last few minutes of the party, you won't have any wait. Stay just five minutes later, and expect to wait for the drivers to get to you.

Meanwhile, Uber is partnering with Mother's Against Drunk Drivers this New Year's Eve.

Now through January, first party hosts can arrange their guests to have a safe ride home with UberEvents and Uber will donate $10 to MADD.
