KANSAS CITY, Mo. — As Missouri continues to vaccinate people in the Phase 1 efforts, it has put together a map where people can locate vaccine providers in the state.

According to the map there are currently 1,173 providers across the state of Missouri.

Under the current phase only people who reside in or work at hospitals and long-term care facilities can receive the vaccine.

On Thursday, the state moved into the next phase of its vaccine distribution plan, Phase 1B - Tier 1.

The plan will now offer vaccines to law enforcement, fire service and public health professionals.

Monday, Phase 1B - Tier 2 will go into effect.

In this tier, people with an increased risk for severe illness, which includes those 65 and older and adults with chronic diseases, intellectual or developmental disabilities and weakened immune systems can get the vaccine.

Still, Missouri Gov. Mike Parson said there currently aren't enough vaccines for everyone included in the newly-activated tiers.

41 Action News also put together a story outlining when some people should receive the COVID-19 vaccine in Missouri and Kansas.
