KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A particularly violent Wednesday in Kansas City continued into Thursday.

Fourteen people were shot in the city over two days, three of them fatally.

Here is what we know about each shooting:

Thursday, August 2:

Around 7:40 p.m.: Two people were injured in a shooting near 41st and Bellefontaine. Officials haven't released any other information about the shooting or possible suspects. 41 Action News is working to gather more information.

The two were able to drive to the area of 18th and Prospect before one of them died from their injuries.

As a search for the suspect continued on Thursday, neighbors said the crime was tough to believe.

“The violence needs to stop,” said Bonnie Phillips, a mother who lives nearby. “It terrifies kids. It doesn’t only affect these families. It’s affecting the surrounding areas.”

Wednesday, August 1:

Around 3:30 p.m.: One woman was shot and killed near 50th and Chestnut. Police said there was a disturbance outside a home that involved several people. Eventually, shots were fired and the woman was hit. A man has been charged in that shooting.

Around 4:30 p.m.: Two people were shot near 79th and Brooklyn. One person suffered critical injuries. The second victim is expected to survive. Police have not arrested any suspects.

Around 4:45 p.m.: One person suffered non-life threatening injuries in a shooting near 89th and Sleepy Hollow Drive.

Around 7:30 p.m.: Three people were shot in south Kansas City near Monroe and Bridge Manor Drive. One of those victims, a man, has died. Another is in critical condition. The third victim had non-life-threatening injuries. Police said there were multiple crime scenes in the area. Officers have charged a man they believe was high on PCP at the time.

The shooting at Bridge Manor Drive on Wednesday claimed the life of 38-year-old Xindong Hao.

Hao, a married father of four children, was studying to be a minister at the International House of Prayer church. He arrived from China on Monday for a special trip to the metro.

His death left those who knew him shocked.

“He was just walking up the street after meeting somebody down the block,” explained friend Tony Petrehn. “His wife and kids were at the house and he was 50 yards from being home. He was almost home.”

Around 10 p.m.: Two people were shot in the 400 block of Lawndale. Police said an adult and a juvenile were outside a residence when unknown suspects fired shots at them. Both victims were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No suspects are in custody.
