Good Saturday bloggers,

We had a super Saturday, cloudless sunrise. This makes for some pretty scenes, but we could use some precipitation.

During the last 30 days we have seen around 60% to 70% average rainfall in our area. Keep in mind we average about 2" of rain over a 30 day period this time of year. So, 60%-70% average is not much rain. There have been two corridors of wetter than average. One extends from southwest Kansas to southeast Iowa, clipping northeast Kansas and northwest Missouri. The second wetter corridor is located along I-44. But, keep in mind, even these wet areas have lower amounts as rainfall averages are low this time of year.

This dry fall weather is following a dry end to summer and we now have a moderate drought taking over our area. A system in parts of the area every 5-10 days is not going to be enough to hold off the drought. So, when is our next chance of precipitation? The video below has the answer.

Have a great weekend and stay healthy.
