MIAMI COUNTY, Kan. — A Miami County girl asked for something special for her birthday — people to honk in her honor.
Her mother posted pictures on Facebook with the request to help celebrate Kelbi's fifth birthday. The post caught the attention of the Miami County Sheriff's Department, which decided to join in on the birthday fun.
Captain Matt Kelly rounded up some of the deputies and headed over to Kelbi's home, where her birthday request was granted.
"I let her mom know when we were coming so that she could see us, and they waited for us to arrive," Kelly said.
Kelbi stood outside waiting as her mom captured the whole thing.
After the deputies arrived, honking in style, they played "Happy Birthday" for her and even brought along a small gift.
"We gave her small goodies from our office that we pass out," Kelly said. "It included crayons, pencils, challenge coin, (a) patch, Happy Birthday card, a coaster, ice pack and bandage kit."

From the smile on Kelbi's face, it was a great birthday surprise.
