KSHB 41

Reporter

Abby Dodge joined the KSHB 41 team in August 2022. She’s very familiar with the Kansas City area and reported here for several years before coming to KSHB. She’s also a Lee’s Summit native and Mizzou journalism school alumnae, graduating Magna Cum Laude in May 2019. Abby is most proud of her stories amplifying underrepresented voices within communities across the metro.

For Abby, the best part of joining the team at KSHB is a sense of belonging at the station and within the community. Outside of work, she is most proud of her connection with her family, which is who she spends most of her free time with. Both sides of Abby’s family live in the Show-Me state, so she’s able to spend ample amounts of time with them. If she’s not on your television screen, she’s probably grabbing a bite to eat at Third Street Social or a late-night sweet treat at Betty Rae’s. Abby is a new homeowner and plans to spend a fair share of her time making her house feel like home.

When she wants to get news from outside of Kansas City, Abby checks national outlets like NBC News and local TV stations in the market where the news is happening. She also follows local newsmakers from throughout the country to keep up with regional news. Instagram and Twitter are her go-to social media platforms.
